If you have been through a healing process or are currently in one, it can feel very isolating. You may feel alone, but know that you are not. Know that this hard, sticky, confusing time will come to an end. And when it does, you will be better for it.

Each moment of the day we have to make a choice of how we want to show up for ourselves. We can either choose to be the same person who does the same things, or we can choose to make choices that our future self will be thankful for.

Change is not comfortable at all! But when you desire to be a better version of yourself, it will require constant change.

You will have to change the way you think, relationships, and habits. None of it is comfortable, but it is all necessary.

Tip: You don’t have to change everything at once. Start with making small meaningful changes.

Like a lot of women, I struggled with accepting my postpartum body. Everything from the weight, stretch marks, and just not feeling great about my image.

I realized that every time I got dressed in the mirror I would have negative self talk such as “ugh, you’re so fat” and feel crappy about what I was wearing.

I refused to keep feeling this way so I began making the small changes I listed in this video!

1. Quit negative self talk
2. Buy clothes that fit
3. Workout for wellness not weight loss
4. Give grace and let your body heal

These small changes made all the difference! I began to feel great! I even lost 20lbs (then I got pregnant again 😂). As I am currently postpartum again, I plan to continue this journey of self love of my postpartum body!

Affirmations helps kids to gain confidence, contributes to a growth mindset, and helps kids to truly believe in themselves.

I started saying affirmations early on with my eldest, before he could even speak. Now we say them together on the way to school.

Nothing warms my heart more than to hear him say his affirmations with power and conviction.

As you can see they don’t need to be complicated. You can say them all, or pick a few each week.

I am sneaking in a pump session while the baby sleeps! I had just nursed him but I wanted to get pump session to add to my milk stash for the future.

There is so much that goes into breastfeeding and pumping milk. During my first breastfeeding journey I was definitely taken by surprise. This time I feel way more relaxed and go with the flow of things!

A lot of women who had kids will joke that leaking

A lot of women who had kids will joke that leaking pee when doing things like laughing, coughing, sneezing or jumping (known as stress incontinence) is the new norm. The truth is, it is not “normal”. It’s actually a sign of pelvic floor dysfunction.

After pregnancy and childbirth many women experience at least some degree of postpartum involuntary urination, called urinary incontinence. Of those who experience this, most women’s pelvic floor will heal naturally over the months following birth.

However, some women’s pelvic floor healing will be incomplete, where further intervention is needed. No need to be embarrassed! In the three months after childbirth, a third of women suffer from incontinence.

The good news is there are many non-invasive treatments that can greatly improve or eliminate symptoms. You can start anytime, even if your kids are grown!

Some things you can try to improve your pelvic floor include:

🌿Reducing intake of caffeine, carbonated drinks, and alcohol as they can irritate your bladder and make it hard to control

🌿Maintain a healthy weight to reduce pressure on pelvis

🌿Kegel exercises (one of the best ways to strengthen your pelvic floor)

🌿Bladder training to increase the time between bathroom breaks

🌿Pelvic floor therapy exercises
